Our Partners and Their Contributions

- Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (Germany) Leads the project coordination and the controlled greenhouse research. HSRW focuses on sorghum root traits, drought and intercropping responses, carbon and nitrogen flows, rhizosphere microbiomes, metabolomics, transcriptomics, and genetic analyses. It also coordinates data management and project dissemination.
- The University of Queensland (Australia) Leads the field-based root phenotyping and modelling activities. UQ contributes advanced high-throughput root phenotyping, crop water-use assessment, field trials in Australia and Ethiopia, and APSIM modelling to evaluate the value of root traits under different environments and management systems.
- Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (Ethiopia) Leads field implementation and stakeholder engagement in Ethiopia. EIAR contributes sorghum germplasm, field trials, breeder and farmer networks, capacity building, and dissemination of project outcomes to support practical adoption of drought-resilient sorghum–legume systems
